Applications are now being accepted for the competition cooking portion of the 2010 Trojan Cook-off. Anderson University reserves the right for the final selection of cookers/participants.
Samples Defined As:
Pork: 4-ounce paper tray (MEAT ONLY—NO BREAD)
ANYTHING GOES: (tHis category is optionAL) YOU’RE CHOICE of sample size
WITH ENTRY INTO THE TROJAN COOK-OFF YOU AGREE TO GIVE OUT ALL BBQ REMAINING AND ANY SAMPLES REMAINING FROM ANYTHING GOES TO THE EVENT ATTENDEES. A DELEGATE FROM aNDERSON uNIVERSITY WILL RETRIEVE THESE FROM YOUR COOKING SITE ONCE YOU PROVIDE A SAMPLE TO the jUDGES.
RULES & REGULATIONS
1. Date: Friday Oct 22nd and Saturday, October 23rd
2. Time: Judging starts at 10:00 A.M. Awards at 2:00 P.M.
3. Location: Anderson University Athletic Campus: Anderson University, Anderson, SC off Hwy. 29
4. Entry Fees: (Includes both BBQ and Anything Goes).
$200.00 prior to July 1st, 2010
$250.00 prior to August 1st, 2010
$300-August 1st, 2010-Day of event
5. Anderson University is proud to offer premier facilities for your cooking needs. The Athletic Campus provides for electric hookups (Both 110v and 220v), water connections, and straight connection to city sewer at each power pole. If you would like, you can bring all equipment to the facility, including your RV if you desire to stay on site. Set-up begins on Friday, October 22nd at 9:00 A.M. There will be plenty of space and blacktop area for your use. You must have a suitable water hose for DHEC and any drop cords or accessories needed for your cooking or lodging. Your site must be left in the same shape as you found it and you must depart by 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 23rd.
6. All contestants must adhere to all health, electrical, fire and other codes applicable to this event. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted.
7. Canopies are welcomed and encouraged.
8. Applications accepted on a first-come, first serve basis. Anderson University reserves the right to deny any application at any time.
9.By completing the agreement below Anderson University WILL NOT be liable for any loss or damage from any cause.
10. Awards: See attached sheet on rules and awards.
11. Schedule: This event coincides with Anderson University’s Centennial Celebration for the community, students, parents, and alumni.
12. One case of refrigerated butts per team will be handed out on arrival.
